Coaching staff

Cruse Aarhus

Cruse has been involved with the sport of wrestling since he was in diapers. Having a dad who coached wrestling had a tremendous influence on his desire to coach. “Being a coach was something decided for me long before I knew I wanted to be one. As a freshman in high school, I was so obsessed with technique and getting better, friends and teammates jokingly called me coach as a nickname.” Along with being a club coach, Cruse is the PWCRTC coach at UNI.

taylor Lujan

Taylor Lujan was a tremendous competitor through high school and college. He is one of the most dominant wrestlers in UNI history and recently won the US Open. Coach Lujan brings a lot to the table of our athletes. Lujan is still currently competing for the PWCRTC and is actively chasing World and Olympic medals. Having an athlete competing at the highest level of the sport around our athletes weekly is a great advantage to your child. Being able to see how hard and focused elite wrestlers are is contagious. Taylor also brings a lot of wrestling knowledge with him. He is great in a lot of different positions and brings a unique style to the room.

Jake Hodges

Hodges joins IAWC in his 3rd year as a coach. Hodges moved to Iowa after graduating high school to join the UNI wrestling team and has fallen in love with the state. Hodges is a wrestling guy! His work ethic and commitment to mastering skills makes him a perfect fit for the club. He also manages The Wrestling Rabbit Hole and is dedicated to helping grow the sport of wrestling for athletes and coaches.

Jacob Holschlag

Jacob Holschlag is a great addition to the IAWC staff. Jacob was an All-American for UNI at 197 lbs in 2019. He is a LaPorte City native and no stranger to the phrase “hard work.” We are super excited to welcome Jacob to the staff. Jacob’s commitment to wrestling rivals anyone. He has a great wrestling mind and is very eager to work with kids. He is most excited about getting in with our youngest groups and helping them develop.

Coach Krall brings years of experience to the table and does a great job keeping our staff balanced. He is also the head coach at Wapsi Valley high school.
